Virtual 4-H Club – Discovering Food

Discover More About Your Favorite 4-H Projects!

In the Spring of 2008, The University of Nebraska–Lincoln Extension 4-H Youth Development Program will be providing youth, ages 14-19, an opportunity to join a Virtual 4-H Club. This particular club will focus on the discovery of food; additional clubs will eventually be added in different curriculum areas.

Club members and volunteers will participate in Web seminars, Course Management Systems, Podcasts, Bulletin Boards, Chats, Blogs, Wikis, Virtual Field Trips, and more.

The purpose of the club is to provide youth with an opportunity to engage in the use of technology while allowing them to increase their personal knowledge in a particular content area. A UNL Extension specialist will provide informational lessons, and 4-H leaders will assist with the duties of the club in a virtual environment. Approximately six to eight meetings will take place during the Spring of 2008.

If you would like to participate in the Virtual 4-H Club focused on the discovery of food, as a 4-H member or as a 4-H volunteer leader, contact Tracy Pracheil [(402)472-9016 or tpracheil2@unl.edu] or Doug Swanson [(402)472-1762 or dswanson8@unl.edu] at the Nebraska State 4-H Office for additional information.
